I can’t believe September is here. Fall on the Central Coast is my favorite, but I want to reflect on this summer and remember our fun adventures. It’s been filled with long writing days, countless beach trips, body surfing, beach walks, campfires with friends, and reading. Here are a few of my favorite moments.

One of my highlights was visiting the sleepy beach town of Cambria with my parents which is just about an hour north of us. We had a dog-friendly hotel, so Gidget came along for the adventure. One of my favorite coastal hikes wraps around the cove of San Simeon State Beach and sits beneath the enchanting Hearst Castle. Filled with eucalyptus trees, I always feel like I’ve been transplanted to Australia.

I’ve loved driving Billie, our ’73 Bronco, around our valley with the windows down and Gidget as my co-pilot. Our river has been flowing, and Gidget can’t get enough of it.

Sometimes, we move so fast in our lives that we forget to look back and celebrate life’s big and small moments. I know I’m always looking ahead to the future, so this blog is my attempt to remember the beauty and adventures this summer has held. I look forward to sharing some of my favorite moments here in my “life lately” section.

I’ve found it so refreshing to share my special moments here rather than social media. I miss the old blogging days and I want to see it make a comeback. I find that it makes me more wide awake to my own life rather than lives of others. It helps me experience more gratitude for the life God has given me. Thanks for visiting and I hope my posts encourage and inspire you.

I hope you’ve had a great summer and embrace the changing seasons!

XO,

Allie
