Hunting Shooting Stars

I don’t want to look down at my devices or the distractions of this world. I want to look up with love and wonder to the God who made me, carries me, and loves me.

I caught four shooting stars last night. I stepped outside to get something and looked up to see a stark black canvas with shimmering lights.

Rather than returning to my nightly chores, I accepted God’s invitation to be awed by the beauty of what He made. I took a seat on my Adirondack chair and gazed upward to the heavens. I talked to God and kindly asked him to send me just one shooting star.

It’s our thing. Whenever I ask for one and look up patiently, He sends me one. But last night it was four! Oh, what I could have missed if I hadn’t looked up.

I want to spend my days in awe of God’s beauty and majesty. I want to hunt for shooting stars, catch as many sunrises as I can, and chase as many sunsets as possible. I want to spend every second of my sacred and fleeting life in awe of God.

I don’t want to look down at my devices or the distractions of this world. I want to look up with love and wonder to the God who made me, carries me, and loves me.

Friend, a flourishing life awaits us when we resist the chaos of our digital world. But we have to look up to  God, creation, and the people and things we love to discover it. I hope the Social Media Reset experience will give you a taste of how delightful life can be when we aren’t tethered to our devices.

A better life awaits us if we don’t conform to the chaos of social media and our world. It’s not about saying no to social media for 30 days, it’s about saying yes to our best lives.

You’ve been made for so much more!

With Joy,

Allie
