As the granddaughter of a rodeo queen, my love for horses crosses generations. While I have yet to have a horse of my own, I play with friends’ horses as often as I can. There is an incredible horsewoman I know who is unable to care for her Arabian horse, Kiva, due to some health issues.

It’s now my honor and dream come true to be able to groom and walk her at Flag Is Up Farms. My favorite time is at sunset. During my first playdate with her, it was better than a counseling session. I cried tears of grief and hope for something sacred. When I’m grooming her, I do breathwork and intentionally ground myself in the sacred moments I have with her.
